I've been blessed with the opportunity to travel, to explore the uniqueness of lands coloured by their people, culture, beauty and character. I've experienced the contrast between vast landscapes in secluded areas, sometimes too breath-taking to capture, to the hustle and buzz of busy city life, where there's often a tangible sense of urgency to make it from point A to point B.
Traveling to remote destinations via helicopter or plane, hiking over mountains or through forests has its allure, but is hard work and often accompanied by a degree of inconvenience. There's the unearthly early mornings, the cold late evenings, transporting and lugging around heavy gear, especially that awkward tripod that keeps jabbing people as you walk by, and of course, the unpredictable weather.
That said, these are all elements that facilitate a great adventure.
